Tonight when I put Ty to bed, he said "Mom, can I tell you something? Will you stay with me? I get scared when all of my moms leave the room."
I giggled and asked how many moms he has. He said only me, but he doesn't like it when I walk out the door.
So I stayed and sang and we snuggled for a little while...and eventually he ended up down stairs on my lap again.
I guess all his moms are suckers for little sweeties.

It is my personal, completely unsubstantiated, opinion that there is a time in a child's life when the veil is finally closed. And that time seems to be about Ty's age. That is when they begin to have nightmares and to be afraid of things that go bump in the night. You are being a great mom when you let them find comfort in your lap. Just continue to sooth their fears and teach them to turn to Heavenly Father on those occasions when they don't feel Him close enough.
